Mr. Seward was elected to the board in 1993. A 1968 Mesquite High School graduate, Seward earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting in 1976 from North Texas State University. He is retired from a position as a senior contract administrator with Luminant. In 2008-09, he served as president of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). He and his wife, Marjorie, have two children, Craig and Christy, and three grandchildren.
