Bio

Veronica Yost, was elected to the Allen ISD Board of Trustees in May of 2024. Veronica is a dedicated advocate for education and community service who has lived in Allen for 14 years. She is married to Brigadier General Michael Yost, a combat veteran, and is the proud mother of two sons, Adam and Tyler. Their youngest son, Tyler, graduated from Allen High School in 2019, while their eldest son, Adam, and his wife, Corinne, are parents to two children. The Yosts are active members of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Veronica’s decision to run for the school board stems from her deep commitment to the Allen community. Since moving to Allen in 2005, Veronica has admired the district’s educational excellence and the warm embrace of the community. Now, she sees the opportunity to give back and serve the community that welcomed her family with open arms.

Veronica graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Over the years, Veronica has volunteered and served on numerous committees and boards within Allen ISD, the City of Allen, and other local community and county entities. These volunteer opportunities include the Allen ISD District Improvement Planning Committee, Allen ISD Leadership Academy, Secretary for the City of Allen Community Engagement Board, a Board Liaison for the City of Allen Parks and Recreation: Inspiring Inclusion ADA Transition Plan, Vice President of the Allen Special Olympics Delegation, and a graduate of the Leadership Allen Fairview Chamber Class 34. From her involvement in district improvement initiatives to her leadership roles in organizations supporting individuals with disabilities, Veronica has demonstrated her commitment to making a positive impact.

Veronica is also the founding President of Bright Star Baseball – The Miracle League of Sulphur Springs, Texas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing special needs individuals with opportunities to participate in baseball. As a military spouse for 26 years, Veronica has also supported military families through various leadership roles and initiatives.

Veronica says her mission as a Trustee is to ensure that every voice is heard and represented. With a focus on supporting parents, students, and teachers, she aims to advocate for educational excellence and prioritize the safety and security of every student. Veronica believes in the power of building relationships within the district and the broader community, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and unity in achieving common goals.
