Tarrah Lantz was elected to the Plano ISD Board of Trustees in May 2023, where she is serving her second consecutive term as Board Secretary. A longtime advocate for public education, she has dedicated over seven years to leadership within Plano ISD PTAs, including serving as President, Secretary and Advocacy Chair of the Plano ISD Council of PTAs, and as an officer in her children’s elementary and middle school PTAs. Her commitment to deeper engagement also extended to district-level service on the Plano ISD District-Based Improvement Council, Safety and Security Committee, Future Forward Task Force Committee and School Health Advisory Council. She is currently a Board Member of the Plano ISD Education Foundation.
Professionally, Ms. Lantz serves as Director of Development at Hope’s Door New Beginning Center (HDNBC). In this role, she leads all fundraising, donor relations and communications to support the organization’s mission. Ms. Lantz works closely with HDNBC’s CEO, staff and Board to ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards, and is a visible representative of HDNBC in the broader community—building partnerships, fostering trust and engaging stakeholders.
Ms. Lantz began her college education in Alabama, where she met her husband, a Plano Senior High School graduate. After spending several years in Brooklyn, New York, the couple returned to Plano to raise their two children—drawn by the strength and reputation of Plano ISD schools and the quality of life Plano offers.
Ms. Lantz is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and is a graduate of Leadership Plano Class 39. Her broad experience in education advocacy, nonprofit leadership and community engagement underscores her enduring commitment to educational excellence and community well-being.
