Tara has been in education for more than 30 years. She began her teaching career in Mansfield ISD, teaching gifted and talented students for five years. In 2004, she was promoted to Assistant Principal at Elizabeth Smith Elementary in Mansfield. In 2008, she advanced to a Principal position in Kennedale ISD at R. F. Patterson Elementary. In 2012, she returned to Mansfield ISD to accept the Principal position at D. P. Morris Elementary and has continued to work in this role.

Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Elementary Education degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Education degree from Texas Wesleyan University. She also holds a Texas Teaching, Gifted and Talented, Principal’s, and Texas Superintendent’s certificate from the University of Texas at Arlington.
