Steve Sprowls brings a community mindset to his place on the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees, having routinely volunteered at multiple schools for more than a decade. He has a passion for visiting schools in the district to see what unique learning opportunities teachers are providing students.
An Air Force veteran and current commercial pilot, Mr. Sprowls has lived in North Texas his whole life, growing up in Bedford, attending the University of Texas at Arlington and living in Northwest ISD for the past 16 years. As with his own path, he believes students must have the tools to go wherever life takes them after graduation, regardless of whether that direction is to college, joining the military or starting a career.
In his time living in the district, Mr. Sprowls has served on PTA boards and supported schools regularly through volunteering. He believes seeing the experiences students and families have in Northwest ISD schools are fundamental to his service to the board.
Mr. Sprowls earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. His wife is an elementary teacher in the district, and their daughter and son are both graduates of Byron Nelson High School.
