Sheryl English, an active community advocate, has been a Realtor® for more than 29 years. She is the owner of Blackjack Realty Group, brokered by Texas Realty Exchange and A Moments Notice Mobile Notary.

A native of Los Angeles, Ms. English relocated to Texas more than 19 years ago and has raised three graduates of Denton ISD schools. She is a board member of the Denton Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. English served as the Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the Denton Housing Authority, where she shared her expertise with the organization and focused on affordable housing for families. She was involved in the construction of a multi-unit property in Denton with a public/private partnership that provided 324 additional units for the residents of Denton.

Ms. English has the distinction of being the first black woman to serve on the Denton Chamber of Commerce Board and the first black woman to serve as a Denton ISD School Trustee.

She is a past member of The Denton Homelessness Task Force, Texas National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials of Texas (NAHRO). She is hands-on in the community and takes pride in advocating on behalf of those that don’t feel they have a voice.

Ms. English earned an Associate of Arts at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, TX. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX.
