On Monday, January 23, 2023, the CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Mr. Ron Crawford as the first principal of Dodson Elementary School. Mr. Crawford previously spent the 2022-23 school year as an assistant principal for Roderick Elementary.

Mr. Crawford comes to Community ISD with 18 years of experience in education, including serving the past three and a half years as assistant principal in Richardson ISD. Before switching into administration, Mr. Crawford worked as a teacher at Richardson ISD, and earned an RISD STARS Teacher honor in 2016.

Mr. Crawford earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Early Education from Texas Tech, and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. He is currently completing a Doctorate in Global Leadership from Lamar University as well. He holds Principal EC-12, Teacher PreK-12, T-TESS, and CPI certifications.
