Bio

Dr. Reymundo Cervantes-Guajardo embarks on his 20th year in education with great enthusiasm, returning to the School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove for his third tenure. As a proud Hispanic leader, Dr. Cervantes remains deeply committed to fostering academic excellence, promoting equity, and advocating for the success of all students.

He believes education must inspire students to grow academically, build self-awareness, and develop social skills to thrive in a global society. By fostering collaboration among all stakeholders, Dr. Cervantes ensures a shared vision and strategy to create meaningful, lasting outcomes for students.

Previously, Dr. Cervantes led Henry B. Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy, where he transformed the school into a personalized learning model focused on teaching quality, student agency, and achievement.

Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Cervantes holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Business from institutions in Mexico and France. Starting his career as a bilingual teacher, he saw the profound impact of dual language education and strong family partnerships. These experiences motivated him to earn a Master’s in Bilingual Education with a focus on gifted learners and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.

Recognized as the 2021–2022 Dallas ISD Elementary Principal of the Year and a 2023 Master Principal, Dr. Cervantes leads with vision, innovation, and a passion for equity.

When not leading, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, including his twin boys. Dr. Cervantes looks forward to partnering with the TAG in PG community to build a legacy of excellence and opportunity for every student.
