Rachel Morton, who has held administrator roles in Irving ISD for ten years, has been named principal of Johnston Elementary School.
“I am honored to serve the students, staff, and families of Johnston Elementary. I am looking forward to building relationships with the students, staff and parents. Parent involvement is a vital role to student success. I am excited to partner with our families! My goal is to ensure everything we do is centered around our mission: Provide a safe, supportive, and challenging academic community in which all students learn at their highest potential,” says Morton.
Morton most recently served as principal at Elliott Elementary School for three years and was an assistant principal at Farine Elementary School for five years. She was also an academic specialist at Keyes Elementary School and an instructional coach, math/science strategist and fourth- and fifth-grade teacher in Grand Prairie.
Morton earned a master’s degree from Texas A&M University – Commerce and a bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University.
