Dr. Porsche Colbert is honored to serve as the new principal of Bessie Coleman Middle School for the 2025–2026 school year. With over 15 years of experience in public education, Dr. Colbert is a dedicated instructional leader who is passionate about equity, student voice, and building systems that support sustainable excellence.
Before joining BCMS, Dr. Colbert served as an assistant principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most recently, she served as Assistant Principal at Highlands Elementary in Cedar Hill ISD, where she led successful campus initiatives focused on academic achievement, positive school culture, and teacher development. Her leadership style is rooted in
high expectations, servant leadership, and collaborative problem-solving.
Dr. Colbert holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, a Master of Science in Teacher Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.
This year, under the theme “Targeting Excellence: Making Intentional Moves,” Dr. Colbert is committed to creating a school culture where every scholar is known, supported, and pushed to thrive—both academically and personally. She looks forward to partnering with staff, families, and the community to make Bessie Coleman a model of excellence in Cedar Hill ISD.
