Nancy Bridges is serving her first term as a GPISD Board Trustee. She attended John Adams Middle School and is a graduate of Grand Prairie High School. She retired from GPISD in June of 2019, after 42 years of service. She held many positions during her tenure. She was a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, and retired as the Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations. She also was an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and supervised student teachers at Dallas Baptist University.

Nancy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Texas. She also earned her master’s degree in education from UNT, as well as her Mid-Management Certification.

As a teacher and administrator, she has devoted her life to education. She is an advocate for public school education. She feels like education is a vital part of every child’s life. Student achievement, student safety, and career and college readiness are her primary goals.

Nancy has served on several boards and committees. She is currently on the advisory board of Children First, Treasurer of Kids, INC., President of Grand Prairie Women’s Sorority, member of the Retired Teachers Association of Grand Prairie, member of the Grand Prairie Police Academy Alumni Association, member of the Grand Prairie Woman’s Club, lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, and a member of the Educator Preparation Program Advisory Board at Dallas Baptist University.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and serving on various boards and committees.

She has one son, who is also a graduate of GPHS, his wife, and one grandson, who attends GPISD.
