Bio

Welcome to Aledo High School! My name is Michael Martinak, and I have the privilege of serving as the principal of this outstanding campus. I am honored to lead a school community that continues to set the standard for excellence across academics, fine arts, and athletics. Last year’s achievements culminated in Aledo High School earning the coveted UIL Lone Star Cup, scoring 104 points to outpace 193 other Class 5A schools—a true reflection of our students’ dedication and our community’s unwavering support.

This year marks my 24th year in public education and my 17th year as a campus administrator. Prior to joining Aledo, I served as principal of Euless Trinity High School and, before that, led Bedford Junior High for eight years. My earlier roles included serving as an assistant principal at Harwood Junior High and teaching and coaching at both L.D. Bell High School and Hurst Junior High. Additionally, I served as assistant director and later director of summer school in HEB ISD.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from McMurry University, where I was a four-year varsity letterman in football, and a Master of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. I was deeply honored to be recognized as the 2023 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 11 Principal of the Year and the 2020 Secondary Principal of the Year for HEB ISD.

“Aledo is a special place filled with exceptional students, families, and staff. The level of support here is truly unmatched—when we say All In Aledo, we mean it. I look forward to another incredible year at Aledo High School as we continue to grow, achieve, and lead together.”
