Mackenzie Caudill is proud to serve as the new principal of Larry G. Smith Elementary School. She brings a deep commitment to students and families of the Bryan Adams feeder pattern community. She grew up in Plano, Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University.
Mrs. Caudill began her educational career at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy, where she taught Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus, served as the math department chair, and coached volleyball. Driven by a desire to increase her impact without leaving the community she had grown to love, she transitioned to Gaston Middle School. First, as the math instructional lead teacher, and later as assistant principal. At Gaston, Mrs. Caudill led the math, science, special education, and elective teams and played a key role in the school earning its first-ever “B” rating.
A passionate and relational leader, Mrs. Caudill is excited to partner with teachers, students, families, and community members to continue the tradition of excellence at Larry G. Smith. She is focused on expanding extracurricular opportunities for students while building on the school’s strong academic foundation.
Rooted in the community both personally and professionally, Mrs. Caudill lives in East Dallas with her husband. Having spent her entire career in this community, she is deeply invested in the long-term success of every child. Her vision is for Larry G. Smith students to emerge as confident leaders who are ready to thrive at Gaston Middle School, Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy, and beyond.
