Welcome to McKenzie Elementary—home of the Mavericks! I’m Liz Felton, and I’m honored to be the principal of a school where students are known, supported, and challenged to be their very best. At McKenzie, we are All In for Learning, and that commitment is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Mavericks excel both in and out of the classroom. From academic success to standout performances in competitions like Battle of the Books, UIL A+ Academics, The Amazing Shake, and Texas History Day, our students rise to every challenge. They also shine creatively through our Honors Choir and Orff Ensemble, showcasing their talents and love of the arts. Our house system promotes our core values of friendship, grit, integrity, and compassion. We love the energy and connection our house system brings to McKenzie with friendly competitions and opportunities for students and staff to show their spirit!

As principal, I believe in purposeful leadership, meaningful relationships, and creating a campus culture where everyone belongs. McKenzie is more than a school—it’s a community, and I’m excited to support and celebrate our Mavericks as they learn and grow each day.
