Hello! I’m Dr. LaDacher “Dai” Jackson, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Tom Landry Elementary, home of the proud Longhorns! With over 17 years of experience in education, I am passionate about creating a school community where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
A proud Dallas native and graduate of Skyline High School, I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Science from the University of North Texas, a Master of Education from Lamar University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development from Grand Canyon University.
Throughout my journey in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD, I’ve been fortunate to serve in many roles that have shaped my leadership. I began my career teaching at Ranchview High School and then moved to Barbara Bush Middle School where I taught sixth grade and coached our national champion step team. Most recently, I served as an assistant principal at both Newman Smith High School and Ranchview High School.
I believe that education is more than academics, it’s about shaping generations. Schools should be places where knowledge is shared, character is developed, and leadership is nurtured. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that “nothing worth doing will ever be easy.” I encourage our students to be resilient, compassionate, and curious learners who are ready to make a positive impact in the world around them.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and giving back to my community through my membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I also love mentoring youth, theme park adventures, watching documentaries, enjoying the arts, traveling, all things Harry Potter. And of course, shopping for my favorite accessory: SHOES!!
I’m incredibly proud to lead the Tom Landry Longhorns and look forward to partnering with our amazing students, families, and staff to make this school year one of growth, joy, and excellence.
May we Teach with Passion, Listen with Empathy, Lead with Purpose, and Serve with Compassion.
We’ve got this!!!
Dr. J
