Kerrie Tarver, an Irving ISD graduate is Principal of the school. Previously she served as Assistant Principal at Houston Middle School.

“As a proud graduate of Irving ISD, I am truly grateful and honored to serve as the new principal at Sam Houston Middle School,” says Tarver. “I look forward to continuing my work with the teachers, parents and community members. I am committed to ensuring that all students receive a quality education that serves as the foundation of their future success.

Tarver joined Team Irving in 2014 as a Science Teacher at Austin Middle School before moving to the Interventionist role. She also served the school as an Academic Specialist, Dean of Students and Assistant Principal, before moving to Houston Middle School.

She earned a master’s degree in Education Administration from Lamar University and a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Communications from the University of Houston – Downtown.
