Katherine Chan Goodwin is a long-time resident of Plano, a successful businessperson, community volunteer and longtime leader in Plano ISD PTAs. Professionally, Katherine currently consults and speaks on change management for employers and other organizations. Previously, she founded and served as CEO of a commercial real estate company for over 20 years, after a career at EDS Corporation.
Katherine served for 16 years on the Executive Board of every PTA for every Plano ISD school that her children attended. She is the proud recipient of the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award. Katherine has served on various district committees and most recently volunteered as Barron Elementary School PTA Treasurer and community supporter since February 2020.
A member of Leadership Plano Class 37, Katherine is on the Board of Directors of both the ArtCentre of Plano and the Plano West Rotary Club. Katherine is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, and was honored with the Rotary International, District 5810 “Service Above Self” Award. Katherine also served the older adult community as a volunteer certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman and as a member of the City of Plano Senior Advisory Board. She recently served on the Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zones 2 and 3 Boards.
Certified in Mediation and Executive Coaching, Katherine earned a B.S. in Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in Dispute Resolution at Southern Methodist University.
Katherine and her husband Thomas moved to Plano as newlyweds more than thirty years ago. Their two adult children are graduates of Plano Senior High School.
