Judy Copp brings a family heritage of district support to her place on the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees, as well as a background as an educator who strives to find new ways to provide care for teachers and students alike.
A retired Northwest ISD teacher, Mrs. Copp has lived in the district all her life, and she taught at district elementary schools for 31 years. Her husband, Kyle, is also a former Northwest ISD educator who served in the district for 34 years in various roles, including teacher and principal before retiring as executive director of human resources. Their family tradition has extended to their children, with both their daughters teaching at Northwest ISD schools. Her grandchildren mark the fourth generation in her family to attend Northwest High School.
A fierce advocate for teachers, Mrs. Copp works to ensure Northwest ISD supports their needs in the classroom so they can be at their best for district students. She believes her longtime experience in Northwest ISD, both as a lifelong resident and teacher, provides a unique perspective on the board.
Mrs. Copp earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). She and her husband enjoy supporting their grandchildren at school events across Northwest ISD.
