John Miller was elected to City Council on May 1, 2021. John grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma and moved to North Texas 29 years ago. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Dallas International University. From 2006 to 2012 John, with his family, served in Papua New Guinea as a Bible translation advisor. John’s family returned to North Texas in 2013 to provide better medical care for Priscilla, their youngest daughter. Both before and after their time in Papua New Guinea, John and his wife Rebekah led lives of service to the community. John and Rebekah met while ministering in low-income apartment communities through Cross City Church in Euless.
John is an avid runner, having completed 14 marathons and is a running coach in a Marathon training group.
John is a graduate of the Hurst Citizen Police academy and a member of the Hurst Citizen’s Police academy alumni association.
John is also a graduate of the Hurst Citizen’s fire academy and a member of the Hurst Citizen’s Fire academy alumni association.
John and Rebekah have been married for 23 years and have 3 daughters.
John currently serves as a field project manager for the Seed Company, a Bible Translation ministry.
John and Rebekah are members of Christ Chapel Bible church in Fort Worth.
