Trustee Dr. Jacquetta Haygood brings a wealth of educational experience to the Board with 33 years of dedication to public education. Haygood served as a teacher from 1993 through 2007 for districts in Texas, Kansas, Georgia and Oklahoma, as her husband’s career as a U.S. Army Audiologist moved the family frequently.

From 2007 to the present, Haygood has worked as an assistant principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She’s currently an Assistant Principal at Mansfield High School. A Cedar Hill citizen since 2014, Haygood’s involvement and servant leadership extends within the community to include CHISD Bond Oversite Committee (2024-Present), CHISD School Board Trustee Contributor (2025 – Present), CHISD PTA Member 2014- Present, CHHS Red Army Band Booster Club & Alumni Member 2018-Present, and CHHS Principal’s Focus Group 2019-2021. She attends and serves faithfully at Point of Light Church in Cedar Hill, Texas as the Director of the Adult Praise Dance Team since 2015 – Present.

She has been married since 1998. She is blessed with two wonderful children. Her son has proudly served in the US Army as well as completed a tour in Iraq and her daughter is currently attending college and majoring in Biology to one day become an OBGYN. Haygood earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership Curriculum & Instruction from Liberty University and a Doctorate Specialist in Educational Leadership, Administration and Supervision, also from Liberty. Haygood earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
