“””I’m proud to play some small role in the greatness that is Wylie ISD. We have amazing kiddos who achieve at such high levels in academics and extracurricular activities. Our amazing teachers and staff pour their hearts and souls into the classroom day in and day out. It really shows in the success of our kiddos. I’m just proud to be a part of a district where we are all a family working together for the best of all students.””
What is your favorite part about being a school board member?
I have two favorites. One is student recognitions each month at board meetings. It never ceases to amaze me what our kids excel at, from bowling, to pin design, to stockshows, sports, academics and so many others. My other favorite is teacher and para of the year day. We make a mad dash through every campus in one day celebrating the best of the best and getting to see their excitement as well as their students’ excitement for them. It’s impossible to describe, but an unforgettable day each year.
Why did you run for school board?
I ran for school board because I believe a former teacher’s perspective adds value. Additionally, my analytical engineering nature helps me consider issues from an objective, data driven mindset. I felt like that combination would bring value to the boardroom.
