Ivan A. Cedillo is a proud El Paso native with a deep passion for education and leadership. A graduate of Vassar College, Mr. Cedillo began his educational career in 2008 at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, where he taught Spanish—specifically native-level courses—and coached football and baseball. He served as the head baseball coach for his final three years at Smith, building strong relationships with students both in the classroom and on the field.

In 2015, Mr. Cedillo transitioned into campus leadership as an assistant principal at R.L. Turner High School, where he served for five years. He returned to Newman Smith in 2020 as the associate principal, continuing his commitment to academic excellence and student growth.

In 2022, Mr. Cedillo moved back to his hometown of El Paso to serve as a high school principal. Now, he is excited to return to R.L. Turner High School—a campus that holds a special place in his professional journey—as principal. He brings with him a wealth of experience, a student-centered approach, and a belief in the power of community and high expectations. Mr. Cedillo is honored to once again serve the Turner community and lead the next chapter of excellence.

Mr. Cedillo is married to his wife, Isela, and together they have four daughters. Their eldest, Abby, is a proud CFB alumna and currently plays college softball at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. Karla, a returning CFB student, and Katie are both enrolled in CFB schools. Their youngest daughter, Alyssa, will be attending the CDA.
