Francisco Rico, who taught at Irving ISD’s Good Elementary School at the beginning of his 21-year career, will continue to be the proud principal of John R. Good.
“I am deeply honored to have been named Principal of John R. Good,” says Rico. “I feel blessed for the opportunity to continue to lead this school that I hold dear to my heart and where I worked as a teacher for seven years. I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside the staff and the community to promote high levels of student learning.”
Rico began his career as a bilingual teacher at Keyes and Good Elementary Schools before being promoted to Bilingual Interventionist and later Academic Specialist at Gilbert Elementary School. Rico then served as an Elementary ELL Specialist for the district before returning to Gilbert Elementary as Assistant Principal.
He earned a master’s degree in Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Dallas.
