Mrs. Elizabeth McDorman was unanimously approved by the Community ISD Board of Trustees as the Principal of Ellis Elementary on April 21, 2025. She is the second principal in the history of the campus, and comes to Ellis after serving one year as an Associate Principal at Community Trails Middle School.

Mrs. McDorman came to CISD from Garland ISD, where she most recently served as an assistant principal at Bussey Middle School. She has 12 years of experience in education, including teaching at the elementary and middle school level, as well as serving as a STEAM Coordinator, Department Chair, and Team Lead.

McDorman holds a Bachelors of Human Development and Family Science from Ohio State University, and a Masters of Educational Administration from Lamar University. She is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University as well.
