Mrs. Elisa Morrissey was born in Brownsville, TX and raised in Port Isabel by her hardworking parents, shrimpers and first-generation immigrants. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and a Master’s from Southern Methodist University, where she graduated top of her class and delivered the 2010 commencement speech.
With 24 years of experience in Dallas ISD, Mrs. Morrissey has served as a dual language and general education teacher across multiple grade levels, as well as a reading instructional coach. She was honored as Dallas ISD’s Teacher of the Year in 2018 and is known for her strong commitment to student achievement, high expectations, and a growth mindset.
Mrs. Morrissey believes collaboration and trust are essential for success and is passionate about promoting equity and excellence for all students.
Outside of school, she enjoys cheering on her two children at soccer games, watching the Dallas Stars and Mavericks, jogging and reading a good book.
