Dr. Donita White’s journey in education began with a deep commitment to nurturing young minds as a second-grade teacher in Detroit Public Schools. For over a decade, she taught students in grades 2 through 8, inspired by the transformative impact of her own mentors. Notably, she spearheaded the development and launch of two new schools in Detroit, expanding her influence on the educational landscape.
In 2016, Dr. White relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she continued her leadership as a principal, furthering her mission to enrich the educational experience for students and staff. While her professional life is a major passion, family remains her foremost priority. She cherishes her roles as a mother to a young adult daughter, and values time spent with her two sisters, brother, parents, and extended family. Dr. White enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, and family gatherings.
Dr. White holds a Texas Teaching and Principal Certification. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oral Roberts University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University and completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Dallas Baptist University in 2023.
“Leadership is all about people. It is not about organizations. It is not about plans. It is not about strategies. It is all about people–motivating people to get the job done. You have to be people-centered.”
— Colin Powell
