Cynthia Watson-Banks is a lifelong educator having spent seven years as a Special Needs Coordinator at Head Start of Greater Dallas and in the classroom 20 years at DeSoto ISD. She was born in Lubbock, Texas, but grew up in Lorenzo, Texas.  Banks is a proud graduate of  Lorenzo High School who continued her education at West Texas State University. A wife, mother and a believer, Banks knows that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her. She is also firmly believes that success in education is about building relationships with students, staff, parents, and community, and establishing strong connections and is committed to collaborative learning that engages all school community stakeholders.  Banks is an education advocate for equity, fairness, and opportunity for all children and a Life Member of the PTA. Banks is a members of Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas and a volunteer with Sisterhood Helping
