Ms. Dunlap brings 11 years of experience in education, having transitioned into the field after discovering her true calling, serving students and families through education. She has taught in Dallas ISD, Allen ISD, and Grand Prairie ISD, where she spent six impactful years and developed as a campus leader. Her leadership journey began as an Assistant Principal Intern at Austin Elementary and continued at Eisenhower Elementary, where she served as Assistant Principal for three years.
In 2024, Ms. Dunlap was honored as the Region 10 Assistant Principal of the Year by TEPSA. Most recently, she served as Principal in Arlington ISD, where she was named Rookie Principal of the Year after her first year in the role.
Ms. Dunlap holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. She is thrilled to return “home” to Grand Prairie ISD and is eager to build strong relationships with the students, staff, and families of Powell Elementary.
Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and making time each year to visit the ocean for rest and renewal. She also deeply values time with her family and loved ones.
