Councilmember Ben TrahanCouncilmember Ben Trahan believes transparency and common-sense management are keys to Allen’s future. Maintaining the City’s future and preserving its unique character are core to his service as a Councilmember.

Ben’s 28 years of banking experience and long history of volunteer service give him the insight and understanding that guide his decision-making as a leader in the Allen community.

Ben’s volunteer service includes a wide breadth of organizations and topics. He currently serves on Collin College’s Banking and Financial Services Advisory Committee (2019-present), as a designated voting representative on the North Texas Council of Governors (2024-present), as a volunteer deputy registrar for Collin County (2019-present) is a member of Leadership North Texas (2024-2025), and was a board member for Foundation for Allen Schools (2012-2018), Kiwanis International (2009-2014), Allen Community Outreach (2014-2015), Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund (2013-2015) and Tulane University Collin County Alumni Club (2016-2022). Ben also served on the City of Allen Planning & Zoning Commission (2011-2022) and as Chair of the Commission (2019-2022), Allen Independent School District’s Project Kids (2024), Long Range Planning Facility Committee (2024) and is a member of Allen ISD Leadership Academy (2024-2025).

He represented the City of Allen at two Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce Fly-In events in Washington D.C. and at Collin County Days at the Texas State Capitol in 2023.

In addition, he volunteers with Allen Citizen Police Academy and was a member of Allen’s 2020 Census Complete Count Committee and Leadership Allen’s 25th class.

His foundation of knowledge on leadership and management was built with associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Tulane University, completion of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking program and a Master of Science in Management from Texas A&M Commerce.
