Audrey L Delacruz has proudly served in Dallas ISD for over 25 years. She started as a science teacher at Skyline Comprehensive High School while going through the district’s Alternative Certification Program. Audrey began her leadership journey by helping lead the science department and eventually left the classroom to work as the Science Coordinator with the Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Program. While working for the ACP, Audrey had the opportunity to recruit, t rain and provide professional development to over 200 science teachers, many who have since moved into leadership roles in Dallas ISD. After working with the Dallas ISD ACP, Audrey realized she missed working with students and transitioned to a campus leadership position as the assistant principal at North Dallas High School. There she helped the campus move from Academically Unacceptable to Met Standards.

In 2013, Ms. Delacruz became the principal at Highland Meadows Elementary School. After one year, the campus moved from Improvement Required to Met Standard and earned a distinct ion in Student Progress. From 2015 to 2022, Audrey served the Vickery Meadows Community as principal of Sam Tasby MS. When she left in 2022, student achievement in each performance level had grown by 10%-20% since 2019, overcoming the effects of instructional loss during covid. In 2023, Ms. Delacruz had the opportunity to move to the east side of the district and, after just one year, the campus earned its first A rating with 5 distinctions. She has also worked with the PTA to increase community involvement by hosting various community events throughout the year.

Audrey L. Delacruz earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and later a Master of Education in Instructional leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington. Most recently she earned her MBA in Accounting. Her leadership approach centers on collaborative decision-making, clear communication, and building capacity in others. Audrey is known for her high standards, integrity, and commitment to student success. Her core values-relationships, grace, growth mindset, and work ethic-are the foundation of her leadership style.

Outside of her professional role, Audrey enjoys spending time with her family and friends who keep her grounded in her values. She is an avid scuba diver and travels to various scuba locations as often as her busy schedule allows.
