Born and raised in Hutchins, America Rodriguez has felt a deep connection to her city. She began to serve her community through the Keep Hutchins Beautiful Board. She currently serves as vice-chair and has undertaken many projects to begin the beautification of the city. Along with volunteering, she embarked on the road to service as a city council woman. Once elected, America has worked to build not only a more beautiful city, but a more vibrant, successful and thriving community.
America is a high school graduate of Irma Rangel YWLS and went off to attend and graduate with a BS in Agriculture Economics from Texas A&M University. She is a proud aggie and has continued to promote a spirit of excellence, leadership, and selfless service. She is the oldest of ten siblings and is committed to being a driving force in the expansion and great growth of the City of Hutchins.
